Mental Health Counseling & Therapy for Individuals, Adolescents & Children
Amy McGowan, MS, LPC, NCC
I'm a licensed professional and National Certified Counselor, Pending LCADC. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Monmouth University, I am also a graduate of Monmouth University with a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. My clinical experience is working with those in the developmental stages of childhood through adulthood, with professional experience working with youth and adults of the mental health and substance abuse populations. Some of the services and skills I provide are assessments, diagnosing, and treatment planning in an intensive outpatient and standard outpatient setting, as well as a program coordinator with youth of various ages and their families. Additionally, I have experience working with adults with co-occurring illnesses in an inpatient facility and with women and children survivors of domestic violence. I apply genuine therapeutic approaches to EBPs, such as Motivational Interviewing and a healthier sense of self and well-being through motivation building and essential skill development.
